JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the management of the Director of Engineering, the Perl Developer, Systems Administrator will be responsible for the following essential functions:

• Perl Development of server side business logic
• C++ development for back end business logic
• Maintaining statistics and report generation processes
• System administration of back end server architecture, including rotating on-call duties
• Database development and administration
• Learning new programming technologies as required

REQUIREMENTS:

Required Education or Formal Training:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Required Knowledge:

• 5-7+ years of overall experience
• 5+ Years Perl experience in an enterprise environment
• Extended use of common Perl modules, including GD, DBI and mod_perl
• Apache and SSL/TLS administration
• Linux administration experience
• Mysql database development experience
• Experience with multi-threaded application design
• Experience with large scale real-time applications and large scale development projects
• Familiar with XML and XSLT
• Strong background with software development methodologies, object-oriented design, and web service standards
• Client/server development experience
• Experience with TCP/IP network programming
• Knowledge of CVS, experience with Subversion a plus
• Familiarity with Gizmo Project or other VoIP applications

Desired Experience
• Statistical Analysis experience
• Java development experience
• Erlang development experience
• Experience with Jabber and Jabber based IM clients
• Experience with SIP or XMPP protocols desired
• Experience developing mobile application
• Flash development experience

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work and develop in a Linux environment
• Ability to coordination with team members and the ability to work with other teams to make sure proper standards are followed and also to insure reuse of existing architecture when appropriate
• Strong database modeling skills
• Must have strong communication skills

Desired Skills/Abilities:

• Mysql database administration skills
