CalciMedica, Inc., a biotech company located in La Jolla, has an immediate opening for an immunologist to join a highly motivated drug discovery team targeting CRAC channels in immune cells for the treatment of immune-related disorders and inflammation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing in vitro assays of lymphocyte and mast cell function, to determine efficacy and mechanism of action of small molecule inhibitors of CRAC channels. Based on experience, the candidate may also help develop in vivo pharmacodynamic/biomarker assays for CRAC channel inhibitors. The candidate will play a key role on a multi-disciplinary drug discovery team.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Immunology or related field with 1-3 years post-graduate experience in an academic or industrial setting. The candidate must also have a proven record of experience with cellular and biochemical assays of lymphocyte or mast cell function in cell lines and/or primary cells. Experience with in vivo pharmacodynamic assay development is considered a plus. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated an ability to independently design, execute and interpret experiments and will have publications in peer reviewed journals. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to function effectively in a team environment are essential.
