1. Time, place, and registration

Date: April 16, 2011 

Time: 11:00 AM (10:30 까지 도착 권장)

Place: UCSD Cognitive Science Building (아래 지도 참고, 주차장에 안내자 대비)

Fees: KSEA members- $15.00/child, non-members- $25.00/child (membership registration: https://hq.ksea.org/user/Application.aspx)

신용카드사용이 어려운 경우 등록만 한후 당일날 현금이나 check으로 지불가능 (no penalty)

2. Exams

1) Math: To make you prepare for the exams, I am attaching the last two years' exams and answers here. Bring your pencils and eraser!

Awards: 1) Cash prizes for top 3 in each grade, 2) The winners have a chance to win a national awards (cash prize),  3) KWiSE gives awards to top female contestants in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade ($50 gift certificate)

1st places (7): $100 each, 2nd places (8): $80.00 each, 3rd places (8): $50.00 each

Overall best percentile winner: Samsung digital camera

2) Science: Science competition will be the same as last year: Bottle rocket launch. You are encouraged to practice at home. Awards: Cash prizes for top 3 in three groups (elementary, middle and high school)

1st places (3): $100 each, 2nd places (3): $80.00 each, 3rd places (3): $50.00 each

Two raffle prizes (awardees are excluded): Samsung 1 Tb external hard drives

3. Seminars for Parents (Financial management and Insurances): 학부모를 위한 무료강좌 (한국어로 강의)

1) John Pak, a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch. 

Topics: Basics of investing, 529 college saving plan, and retirement planning (투자의 기초지식, 대학교 대비 저축법, 정년퇴직후를 위한 투자법)

2) James Jun, a manager at Farmers Insurance, 

Topics: How to save money on auto insurances, how to protect your most important assets (자동차 보험료 적게내는 방법, 귀중한 재한 보호하는 보험)

4. Lunch will be provided to students and parents, along with a T-shirt with the NMSC logo (Students only) as always. (부모/학생 점심무료)
